Introducing HiMPACT™ Sports, new from Sharp Technology Ventures. This technology includes algorithms that, in real time, automatically detect every key event in a sports broadcast video, such as each play in a football game and every event in baseball. The algorithms then condense the action into one compact video clip. The HiMPACT Sports technology enables automatic generation of highlights, indexing for searchable play-by-play databases, and condensed summaries of sports broadcast videos.

HiMPACT can be successfully applied to action-stop sports, such as baseball, football, and sumo wrestling, as well as continuous-action sports, such as soccer. The underlying algorithms in HiMPACT Sports can be applied to other content or applications such as surveillance.
