Sharp is engaged in the development of personal health monitoring devices and management systems. The focus is on developing body monitoring and disease management applications for consumer centric use, with initial monitoring applications focused on heart and lung function and disease management directed at respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD.

The longer term vision is to develop high volume, mass market, ambulatory, continuous monitoring, consumer and hospital grade physiological and environmental sensors and their related algorithms, HW, SW, systems, and network connectivity for a broad range of health applications ranging from wellness to patient monitoring to chronic disease management.

The business development strategy calls for Sharp personal health product integration with 3rd party medical systems and devices.
