Lower Cost, Higher Quality Scanner Reproduction

Scanners, photocopiers, and other image reproducing systems are fantastic tools to have. Images can be quickly and efficiently copied and reproduced for presentations, archiving, digital printing and a multitude of business and personal uses. Yet sometimes the reproduced image quality leaves something to be desired. Often there are ghostly color fringes around the text. Sometimes the sharpness of the image is slightly off. These problems are known as color misregistration and distract from the overall look of the image.

Available from Sharp Technology Ventures is a new scanner configuration to eliminate these problems. Sharp's process utilizes an advanced tri-linear image scanner configuration. This arrangement allows the manufacturer of the scanner to have lower tolerances for sensor alignment, while at the same time, the scanner actually produces a higher image quality, leading to much lower manufacturing cost. The process provides a great improvement in document scanning for photocopiers, scanners, and other image reproducing systems. It also provides a method of refining color registration within the final image.
