How Can We Help

Sharp Technology Ventures' goal is to make our partners successful. To some, this means licensing our intellectual property or the applied technology we've developed in order to support our partners' product development cycle. In other cases, this means collaborating or partnering on the development or modification of applied technology to create a new category of products. Still, in other cases, it means pursuing the development of a new business or new company to capitalize on the opportunities available from our intellectual property.

Regardless of the type of partnership, we follow a trusted process to engage our partners in a manner that will bring most value to them.

Needs assessment: At this stage, we listen to the challenges and goals presented by potential partners, and determine how Sharp Technology Ventures and our applied technology expertise can help, either through IP licensing, process development or creation of a new business entity.

Due diligence: After hearing about our partners' goals, we then tap into the extensive repository of intellectual property available through Sharp Technology Ventures to determine which technology or intellectual property can best fit the needs of our partners. We'll rely on our core areas of available IP, which include materials processing, image processing, wireless and networking, document handling and presentation and information handling and presentation.

Implementation and technology transfer: Our staff works closely with partners to assure successful technology transfer - co-developing a technology, modifying and customizing established IP, commercializing the technology or creating the business case for the creation of a new technology company.

Proof of concept: Before any product goes to market, we help partners ensure their product works as designed, satisfies market demand, and will be received with enthusiasm.
